Arena Community,
I’m June (they/them) from the Arena Careers Team. You might be used to hearing from me through our Daily Digest, but I wanted to talk with you about my Academy experience.
When I came to Arena, I was fresh off the Biden 2020 team and looking for ways to contribute. But to be honest, I was tired. I was tired of doom-scrolling, tired of attacks on my community from the right, and tired of the typical way campaigns were run. I wanted to make a change but didn’t know how to make a difference without burning out.

Academy rebuilt my understanding of campaigns from the ground up. I leaped into managing smaller races in my local community and providing contract support for old friends in their own races. I made allies, friends that I still talk to today, and people who put the work in my network.
I invite you to apply because there’s never been a better time. As a trans staffer, I can tell you there’s never been a better time to fight back. As an organizer, I can tell you there’s never been a better to upgrade your skill set. As a progressive, I can tell you there’s never been a better time to win big. And as an Arena alumnus, I can tell you there’s never been a better time to join our community.
