Between 1994 and 2004, the U.S. had a federal ban on assault weapons. A recent study showed that while the law was in effect, there was a significant decrease in public mass shootings, gun deaths, and gun injuries.

Families should not live in fear of gun violence when we have the ability to take action. That's why I support reinstating a federal assault weapons ban.
