After Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, which shook the political establishment to its core, a few staffers decided to continue the work to fight to elect progressives by launching Justice Democrats. For a team with a small budget, we’ve had quite an impact in the last few years.

We recruited AOC, Cori Bush, and Jamaal Bowman to run and helped their campaigns win in competitive primary elections against entrenched incumbents. This past cycle we’ve helped Greg Casar and Summer Lee win their primary elections.

As a grassroots-supported organization, our fundraising makes a big impact on the level of support that we’re able to offer our endorsed candidates.

But, as we’ve emailed you before, this last year has been particularly challenging for our fundraising. We’ve seen an unprecedented slowdown and in order to sustain our work for the long haul, we need your support, John.

Every month we set goals to keep our budget on track and right now we’re racing against the clock to reach our $43,000 mid-month goal.
