John, I’m reaching out to you today because our mid-month deadline is TODAY and we’re still coming up dangerously short. With time so tight and every dollar so crucial, let me give you the top three reasons I’m counting on you to donate right now:

1. In my three years as a Durham county commissioner, I’ve been fighting on the front lines of our community’s greatest needs, advocating for everything from guaranteed basic income to property tax relief.
2. I was the first Muslim woman elected to any office in North Carolina. It felt incredible to overcome the barriers stacked so high against underrepresented, marginalized candidates like me, but the work isn’t over.
3. I know I have more to give this community, but I also know that winning re-election will take just as much grassroots support as my first run did – and right now, fundraising is trending down, not up.
