Working Families Party

John —

Our hearts are broken over the devastation of Maui after a wildfire swept through the island, destroying countless homes and communities, including historic Lahaina, once the former capital of the Hawaiian kingdom. Decades of climate pollution and colonial greed contributed to the deadliest wildfire in more than 100 years after drought and hurricane winds resulted in a perfect storm of death and destruction.

Now, as the death toll nears 100 lives tragically lost, with many more still missing, land grabbers are preying on desperate families who have lost everything. We must band together to help rebuild a Maui that works for everyday, local people — kānaka maoli and kama'āina — and rise against the big money and special interests who have created this mess.

Our friends at Our Hawaii Action have created the Maui Community Power Recovery Fund to provide direct relief and long-term recovery to help the people of Maui rebuild and ensure that Hawaiian lands remain in Hawaiian hands.

Will you chip in to support direct relief, community organizing, and power-building efforts in Maui? Any amount you can contribute will help the island recover and rebuild.

Let us come together as a community and show the true spirit of aloha.

Mahalo for your kindness and compassion,
