That’s what scientists are saying about this year’s heat waves happening all over the world. The intense climate disasters of this summer are just the beginning of what's to come. But despite the signs – like the poor air quality from Canadian fires to flash flooding from torrential downpours in Vermont – Republicans are denying that climate change is even a thing. What does that mean for our future? Forget about enacting new climate policies to lessen the impact. A number of our Villains previously mentioned by Andy in his strategy memos and shorts are currently working on a plan to dismantle the climate policies we already have in place. Don’t believe me? Google “Project 2025”. (Geriatric millennial sidenote: Do folx still use Google search??)
Robert Reich, former US Secretary of Labor and one of my favorite social media influencers, recently shared about “Project 2025.” Similar to the Republicans long game strategy for dismantling Roe v. Wade, “Project 2025” is a transition guide of nearly 1,000 pages. As The Guardian recently wrote:

With $22 million already in funding, “Project 2025” is a serious threat to the environmental justice landscape. So yes, we can forget about enacting new climate change policies if we cannot even protect the ones we have in place. Taking from Robert Reich, in case there is any question about the stakes of the next election. |
The Villains are working harder, faster, better, and maybe even stronger than ever before. And while you may be tired of hearing how important the next election cycle is, or perhaps you feel like it’s something you’ve heard before over and over again from the Democratic Party, we can’t let them win.
