Hi John,
Today, Mayor Joe Hogsett presented a historic budget for Indianapolis including a record amount of investments for our city's public safety and our future prosperity.
"We are living through one of the most consequential eras in city history...How we lead, how we invest, how we plan in this time will determine our city’s future to a large degree. And despite our challenges, we must be bold – because we are also living at a time of tremendous opportunity." said Mayor Joe Hogsett when proposing his budget to the City-County Council.

What's included in Mayor Joe Hogsett's budget proposal:
- Record $323 million for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department that will fund the modernization of policing technology and upgrades to aging equipment.
- 41% budget increase for the Office of Public Health and Safety aimed at addressing the root causes of crime and funding Mayor Hogsett's 3-year anti-violence plan announced in 2021.
- $325 million investment in infrastructure helping fund roads, bridges, greenway, and pedestrian safety improvements.
- The creation of a new Office of Equity, Belonging and Inclusion, headed by Indianapolis' first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer Bed Tapper, that will identify barriers for minority- and women- owned businesses in contracting with the city.
These are just a few of the investments and priorities Mayor Joe Hogsett is fighting for to keep Indianapolis moving forward.
To build on top of all the work we have accomplished in the past 8 years, Mayor Joe Hogsett needs to win another term this November to finish the job. Can you help support our re-election efforts by chipping in today? [[link removed]]
Thanks,
Hogsett HQ
