As Eric continues to deliver for the people of Illinois’ 17th District in Congress, we’re tracking a few key reasons why we need a strong showing on the fundraising side this quarter:

• We recently learned we’re up against a self-funding opponent. Our wealthy GOP opponent loaned himself tens of thousands of dollars last quarter, showing he’s willing to tap into personal funds to support his campaign. We need to respond with a surge of grassroots support.

• IL-17 is a top target for the GOP this cycle. Kevin McCarthy and his allies are going to do everything they can to flip this district red, including spending big on attack ads. We need to show strength by building grassroots fundraising momentum.

• Our numbers will go public soon. At the end of the quarter, we’ll report our fundraising numbers to the FEC and they go public for our opponents – and everyone else – to comb through. It’s critical the report doesn’t show any signs of weakness.
