John–
We're so excited and inspired. We just got back from Gun Sense University 2023, our annual conference, and it was the first time we've been together in person since before the COVID-19 pandemic. The energy was incredible.
We gathered in Chicago for this year's Gun Sense University, and there were so many of us. Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers and survivors came from communities across the country to learn from each other, connect, and make this movement stronger than ever. As we celebrated 10 years of demanding action, we made clear we're more than ready for the next decade.
And we got to hear from some amazing people.
Vice President Kamala Harris was there, encouraging us to keep up the fight in an incredible speech.
In a heartfelt moment, Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts handed the torch off to Angela Ferrell-Zabala, our first-ever Executive Director.
And on Saturday, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and other leaders from the state showed us firsthand the importance of electing gun sense champions. Surrounded by a sea of gun safety advocates, he signed a critical gun violence prevention bill to help hold bad actors in the gun industry accountable for their role in the gun violence crisis. As part of this year's Gun Sense University, we also named him the State Gun Sense Lawmaker of the Year for his leadership on gun safety.
Together, we're building the next decade of demanding action. Watch and share our new video to see what we did at Gun Sense University 2023. We want you to be a part of what's next.
