Our home state of Michigan is central to former president Trump’s most recent indictment. Step one of Trump’s plan to steal the 2020 election was to overturn the results in Michigan. These recent indictments are a salient reminder that we only narrowly avoided a true crisis of our democracy in 2020. It also reminds me that thanks to a few key districts narrowly voting Democratic, like MI-03, we could deny Trump’s second bid for the presidency.
We cannot take Blue Michigan for granted unless we want to pave the way for a Trump 2024 win.
