I have 15 minutes of free time, friend. It may not sound like much, but gaps in my schedule are rare.

So, as I’m sitting here drinking my tea, I’m reflecting on this historic campaign and my decision to run for the Senate. It wasn’t a decision I made lightly because when you’re a Black woman in politics, you’re used to being underestimated.

You see, there have only been two Black women elected to the Senate since 1789. In fact, I recently read an article that pointed out it is conceivable that the first Black woman Senator, Carol Moseley Braun, could be in the Senate chamber looking on as the second Black woman Senator, Vice President Kamala Harris, administers the oath of office to the third. Wouldn’t that be something?

But the road ahead won’t be easy – right now, there are NO Black women in the Senate and I’m running to change that. I’ve never been one to back down from a tough fight, but Black women candidates on average raise just one-third as much money as white women.

That’s why I’m personally reaching out: I need to raise another $10,000 by tonight's mid-month deadline to overcome these hurdles, pull ahead, and defend our Democratic Senate majority. I’m counting on your help to get there with an urgent donation of $25 or any amount. In 2022, Mitch McConnell's personally-aligned Super PAC spent a record-breaking $205 million on Senate Races. And that number is likely to increase in 2024!
There are NO Black women in the Senate. Help us make history by sending Lisa Blunt Rochester to the Senate!
