Hi John,
Corporate greed and inaction by our elected leaders are destroying the climate and endangering people across the planet.
The devastation we’re seeing in Maui is heartbreaking, and unfortunately this unfolding tragedy is only the most recent example of the destructive impact of continuing to burn fossil fuels. Extreme weather events like floods, record heat, wildfires, droughts, and stronger storms are getting worse and happening more frequently. Everyone is feeling the effects changing climate. Will this be our new “normal?” It doesn’t have to be if we act now.
That's why Food & Water Action is joining with the Jane Fonda Climate PAC to demand the Biden administration act on climate before it's too late. Tell President Biden to declare a climate emergency under the National Emergencies Act!

Declaring a climate emergency isn’t an empty gesture. Using the National Emergencies Act to declare a climate emergency would:
- Halt the approval of new fossil fuel projects.
- Stop fossil fuel exports.
- End fossil fuel leasing on federal lands.
- Launch a just, equitable renewable energy revolution.
Climate chaos is not something that will happen next week or next year. It’s happening now. The only way to avoid full-blown climate catastrophe is to stop emitting greenhouse gasses and end the era of fossil fuels. On September 17th, we are joining activists, frontline leaders, and people from all walks of life in New York City for the March to End Fossil Fuels, but you don’t have to wait until then to make your voice heard. Tell President Biden to act NOW by declaring a climate emergency!

We can do something before the climate crisis gets any worse. President Biden has the power to stop disastrous fossil fuel projects and protect the climate we all depend on by declaring a national climate emergency. The climate crisis requires his bold leadership NOW, not tomorrow.
Urge President Biden to declare a climate emergency to protect the planet from irreversible climate chaos!
Thank you,
