Friends — It’s Robert. I have an important request for you today, and I hope you’ll take a couple of minutes to read on.

My team reached out to you yesterday letting you know the reality of political fundraising in the summer — particularly in August — and how difficult it has been for my campaign. Today, I am reaching out to emphasize just how critical it is that I have your support right now.

Tonight, at midnight my team and I face the mid-point of the quarter — meaning we only have a month and a half left before our next FEC fundraising deadline. That may seem far away, but in all transparency, we are pacing behind our quarterly goal and every single day matters from this day forward.

So, I am respectfully asking: Can you please make a contribution of $3 or whatever you can afford to my campaign for Congress before we begin the second half of the quarter? It’s critical that I have a strong team behind me during a tough month like August.

I try not to email often because I know many people are busy during the summer months. But I needed to be honest and clear with you.

We can’t afford to continue pacing behind our quarterly goal. We risk losing critical resources that help us run the day-to-day of my reelection campaign.
