Your fellow AFGE members across the nation are contacting their U.S. Representatives and urging them to cosponsor H.R. 3394, the Fund the TSA Act. This bill benefits our union family at the TSA, keeps the TSA properly funded, and helps AFGE members at the agency continue their critical work in keeping our skies safe. Since its inception, the TSA has been frequently and dangerously underfunded. The Fund the TSA Act would ensure that all of the funds collected from passengers for airport security would actually be sent to the TSA as intended. Billions of dollars intended for airport security have been diverted to other purposes since 2013. It’s time to return that money to its rightful purpose. The bill would also peg security fees to inflation, guaranteeing that the TSA is always fully funded and ensuring that TSOs are paid even in the event of a government shutdown.
