THE VIEW
This week, I joined the ladies of “The View” to discuss our country’s incredible economic growth, which has been a direct result of President Trump’s pro-growth, pro-worker, and pro-American economic policies. (As expected, they didn’t seem to share my support for the president).
I also discussed the wild leftward lurch of Democrats, who are increasingly following the lead of the “Venezuela wing” of their party. That seemed to have ruffled a few feathers. Nevertheless, it was a surprisingly pleasant discussion — except when Joy Behar tried to call President Trump my boss. That is not the case: my bosses are the people of Florida’s First Congressional District, with one of the highest concentrations of active-duty military and veterans anywhere in the country. For a time, Northwest Florida was even home to Meghan McCain’s father, the late Senator John McCain.

THANK YOU LETTER TO POTUS
This week, alongside over 100 members of Congress, I signed onto a letter thanking President Trump for his commitment to our constitutional liberties and his tireless defense of family values.
We seen record-low unemployment and unprecedented economic gains under President Trump, and our religious liberties have never been more secure. The administration’s bold policymaking sends a message to the international community that America is committed to religious freedom, and that America protects the right to life.
Thank You Letter to President Trump
FIGHTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
President Trump’s commitment to enforcing immigration policy has made him a lot of enemies. In many parts of our country, local governments with “sanctuary city” policies brazenly violate federal law, refusing to turn over important information to the men and women of ICE and CBP. Their goal is to prevent illegal aliens who are arrested for violent crimes from being deported.
While there is a place for disagreement and debate, it should never come at the safety and security of our citizens. Sadly, not everyone in Washington shares our commitment to justice, safety, and the rule of law.
Recently, Attorney General Barr announced that the Department of Justice would immediately start filing lawsuits against ‘sanctuary’ jurisdictions for interfering with federal immigration enforcement, and would begin a national review of ‘sanctuary’ jurisdictions.
In June, Governor DeSantis signed a bill to prohibit localities from adopting ‘sanctuary city’ policies. Under the measure, undocumented immigrants can be turned over to federal immigration enforcement if they are subject to detainer requests. Governor DeSantis’s decision was bold and brave, and I am glad to see his efforts being echoed by the federal government under AG Barr. I applaud the Attorney General for his efforts.

OPEN GAETZ DAY
I want to thank everyone who came out for the first Open Gaetz Day of the 2020s! With a booming economy and a military that has been rebuilt at last, we had a lot to talk about. I enjoyed hearing from the great people of Northwest Florida and was happy to answer your questions. It is my great honor to fight for you in Washington D.C., but there’s truly no place like home.
