When I ran for commissioner of public lands in 2016, I was asked how a “little lady” like me was going to manage 6 million acres of land and a $500 million budget.
No one thought I could win. I was told to start from the ground up and wait my turn. But I knew I had the vision, values, passion, and determination to take Washington further.
