New Match Challenge: Make an even greater impact for birds in crisis ([link removed])

“The era of global boiling has arrived.”  That’s how UN Secretary General António Guterres responded to the announcement that July was the hottest month ever on record. Among the most susceptible to high temperatures are small songbirds, like the American Goldfinch, that dehydrate quickly. Immediate action is needed to protect these birds and the places they need while there’s still time to do so. We act on behalf of birds—and we’ve shown that where there’s action, there’s hope. You become a part of it when you join in our Match Challenge today: Will you join us with an annual donation? Thanks to a group of generous donors, your first gift will be matched, up to $5,000, to protect climate-vulnerable birds like the American Goldfinch. Your annual gift will renew automatically each year, providing uninterrupted resources our teams can depend on in their work year after year. ([link removed])

[Help birds beat the heat. [Give Now]] ([link removed])

If climate change continues unchecked, more extreme weather events, including heat waves, lie ahead—worsening the impacts on birds and their habitats. Yet we are not without hope. With more than a century of conservation expertise under our wing, our research is powering a path forward to help more birds survive at this critical time. And through important advocacy and hands-on conservation action to maintain and protect resilient landscapes across the nation, we’re pushing for the large-scale change it will take to ease habitat loss and help reverse the climbing temperatures of our current climate crisis.

Climate-vulnerable birds need your help today

The American Goldfinch has already lost over a quarter of their populations since 1966

Severe heat waves are predicted to increase in intensity, frequency, and duration in the coming years

With 3 billion birds lost in the last 50 years, we must do all we can to protect the species that remain

We can achieve even more when you join us with your annual donation today. Please don’t wait: Start your annual recurring gift right away while your first gift will go twice as far. Together, we’ll secure a safer future for birds like the American Goldfinch. ([link removed])
