With these new 13 felony charges in Georgia, one thing’s clear:

We’re so damn lucky, folks.

The more we learn about how Donald Trump tried to overturn the 2020 election, the more I’m convinced we barely avoided a catastrophe.

We now have evidence that Trump’s team actually infiltrated a voting system to try to “find votes.” We’ve long known these guys were capable of breaking our democracy — what’s so horrifying is just how close they came to pulling it off, when they didn’t have years to hatch a scheme.

I don’t want to be lucky in 2024. I want to make sure they never get the chance to try to steal another election. If you can, chip in today and let’s put the groundwork in place to stop Trump and his MAGA allies for good.

Last year, we saw the first stages of the plan to steal the White House back for Trump. He hand-picked candidates to be election officials in states like Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada, knowing they’d return the favor if he needed their help in 2024.

Thanks to this team and our allies, we completely crushed that scheme — last November, every single election-denying Trump ally in a battleground lost their race.

But next year is shaping up to be a different kind of roller coaster. Republicans are on pace to nominate a criminal defendant (or potentially even a convicted felon). That guarantees Trump’s legal proceedings and unhinged rallies will be the center of the political universe, sucking up all the oxygen in the room. It’s sure to be bonkers, exactly how Trump likes it.
