John, BREAKING: Fulton County DA Fani Willis has just indicted former president Trump and his allies for their actions trying to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. The Fulton County DA’s investigation was spurred on by revelations of a fake elector plot and a January 2021 phone call where then-president Trump can be heard urging Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find 11,780 votes,” in order to hand him a victory in the state. Following the release of that recorded call, Free Speech For People, on January 5, 2021, added Trump’s actions as further grounds for impeachment. Now DA Willis’ indictment, following a lengthy investigation, signals a major step in the state’s efforts to hold Trump and his allies accountable for their efforts to undermine our democracy. The indictment charges Trump and his allies in a sprawling conspiracy that pressured government officials to alter final election results in Trump’s favor; organized fraudulent electors pretending that Trump had won Georgia; unlawfully accessed voting machines; and lied to investigators to cover it all up. Meanwhile, Free Speech For People is renewing our call for Secretaries of State across the country to disqualify Trump from any future ballot based on his incitement and mobilization of a violent insurrection to overturn his 2020 election loss. In Georgia, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, like all other chief election officials, has a responsibility to bar former President Trump from the ballot. It is clear that the Insurrection Disqualification Clause makes him ineligible for future office. Sign the petition: Urge Georgia Secretary Raffensperger and all other chief election officials to abide by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment and bar Donald Trump from any future ballot.
