Fellow Conservative,

Good Saturday Morning!

This week Congress was out of session, but Heritage Action was busy with an exciting new transition—and we have news to share!

But before we jump in, are you following us on Twitter? If you want to up-to-date information about important conservative causes each week, be sure to follow us.

Tim Chapman, the executive director of Heritage Action, will be leaving in April to serve as the executive director of Stand For America, an issue advocacy group founded by former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Tim has served on the leadership of Heritage Action—both as a chief operating officer and executive director—since its founding in 2010. For the past 10 years, Tim has advocated for conservative ideas and policies through Heritage Action’s unique approach that combines inside-the-Beltway lobbying with outside-the-Beltway grassroots pressure. He also helped create a Capitol Hill lobbying team and legislative scorecard to implement conservative solutions.

Tim shared:

It has been a true honor to work with some of the brightest minds at The Heritage Foundation and help turn conservative ideas into reality on Capitol Hill. Working together with the Heritage Foundation, we [at Heritage Action] have accomplished significant policy goals and made important advancements for the American people. The Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action are a powerful combination and I am confident they will continue to shape public policy issues in the future.

We will surely miss Tim but are proud of the work he is doing to advance conservative ideas and policies in Washington and across the country. We wish Tim all the best and look forward to working with him in the future!

Remember Obamacare? You were told you could keep your doctor. You were told costs would go down.

But that didn’t happen. Many lost their doctors and healthcare costs have only increased.

Now, Congress is debating another big-government power grab of the healthcare market. Backroom negotiations are ongoing with a vote widely expected by May. But the decisions are being made TODAY.

Congress wants to institute socialist price controls as a “fix” for surprise medical billing and prescription drug pricing. These are real problems, but government-dictated prices are not a real solution.

Your congressmen and senators need to hear from you. Many in Congress are not sure where to stand on the policies being proposed—your calls, tweets, and emails can make all the difference.

First thing on Monday—call your representative and senators!

At Heritage Action, we turn conservative ideas into reality on Capitol Hill. And this year, we are focused on Project 2020—a nationwide effort to grow the conservative movement and advocate for conservative policy in the areas where it matters most.

Trump Speak on Heritage Action Policy

In 2019, we conducted issue polling on a variety of issues affecting Americans. And when it comes to immigration, we discovered that Americans are most concerned with its impact on social services.

We shared these findings with the Trump administration, and in the 2020 State of the Union Address President Trump said: “Stand with me and pass legislation to prohibit free government healthcare for illegal aliens."

This is just one way we advance the policy conversation in Washington.

Next week, the Senate is planning votes on two pro-life bills:

Well, that’s all for this week. Keep up the fight for conservative values—we’ll see you next week!
