JOhn, today is the 88th anniversary of Franklin Roosevelt signing the Social Security Act.

America made a promise to its citizens that day that everyone can retire with dignity and the necessary financial support. But in recent years, Social Security has been under attack from the GOP.

Democrats like Jennifer will always fight to protect the future of Social Security, and it’s essential that she stays in office to help counter the dangerous messages put forth by the far right. Will you chip in so she can raise $2,941 more by Wednesday and meet her mid-month fundraising goal?

Former Speaker Paul Ryan famously proposed privatizing Social Security and leaving it subject to the winds of Wall Street. Other House Republicans have suggested making it less accessible by raising the retirement age. During his presidency, Donald Trump repeatedly proposed budgets that would have resulted in cuts to retirees’ monthly benefits.

And this year, MAGA hard-liners are insisting that we cut Social Security — or they’ll shut down the government.

We must do everything we can to ensure that the program remains fully funded and accessible for the millions of seniors (and soon-to-retire Americans) that depend on it. And that means keeping Democrats like Jennifer in office.
