I am proud to have received the endorsement of the Napa County Progressive Alliance. Thank you for your support. Unlike my opponent, I will not take money from winery owners like the Halls. I will not vote to weaken the Clean Water Act so that vineyards can play it fast and loose with pesticides and I will stand with the people on local issues.
The list of Congressional candidates that have endorsed our effort is growing.
Omnibus bills are where they put a whole bunch of stuff into one bill, right before Christmas break (or similar break) to get Congresspeople to vote for things they would never vote for. So in order to get something you really want, you have to vote for a lot that you don't. I believe this is not how Congress should be conducting its legislative business. Omnibus bills should be banned. Congress should look at each individual issue, so someone doesn't get blamed for voting for military spending when they were really trying to make sure hurricane victims got relief. The current system doesn't benefit the people, and it doesn't benefit a lot of the members of Congress. It benefits the wealthy, who always get their way. But not for long.

We had a couple of really nice picnics last weekend. Thank you, Sophia Racke, for coming and sharing about your campaign to unseat Cecilia Aguiar-Curry.We'll be having a picnic this morning at the Vallejo waterfront from 11-1. You should join us.

Napa County: Did you know the county started a Climate Action Committee? Please consider coming to the (third) meeting on Tuesday 2/25 from 1:30 - 3:30.
You can view the agenda by clicking the image. If you have trouble viewing it, send me an email and I'll help you.
Noah and I tabled for Bernie at Napa Valley College on Tuesday. Maybe he'll run for office when he gets older. Vive la révolution!

I asked my opponent "The FEC lists 208 pages of corporate contributions to your committee. Why did your surrogates in Napa and Benicia deny that you accept corporate money?" His answer goes from word games to dishonesty. PACs exist to donate to politicians' committees. That's what they do. This is from Wikipedia, under "Political Action Committee". Visit the link yourself to read about "Connected committees", which is what corporate PACs are.

"Citizens United declared it was unconstitutional to prohibit that corporations and unions spend from their general treasuries to finance independent expenditures related to campaigns, but did not alter the prohibition on direct corporate or union contributions to federal campaigns."

It is Mike Thompson's position that he has not accepted 50 donations from PG&E, but 50 donations from a PAC controlled by CEO Andy Vesey (or previous CEO Geisha Williams) and the PG&E Board of Directors.

Citizens United says it's the same thing and so do I.

If what he is saying were true, Democratic Presidential contenders would have eaten Senator Sanders for lunch long ago.

Why would our Congress vote to create a Space Force during a time of the greatest economic inequality in 100 years, and while people are sleeping on the street in increasing numbers?
I learned today, from my friend Ryan Blevins who is running for Congress in CA-10, that the minimum age to collect the Earned Income Tax Credit is 25. It astounds me that young people are excluded from this stimulus. It seems to me that people just starting adulthood are the people who need it the most. The minimum age is going to have to be lowered to 18, and lower if you are living on your own and not being claimed as a dependent.

I wanted to be able to tell you that I saw our future President on President's Day, but instead I walked the line, giving our fliers to people in our district. That put me squarely at the back end of the line. Here are some pictures. The young lady is Isabel from Napa. She'll be voting for corporate free progressives. And yes, that IS Bernie's fist in the last picture.
I spent Tuesday evening at the State of the City address and General Plan update in American Canyon. It was good to see some faces I haven't seen in a little while and meet some new people. And it was great to see a huge turnout. I hope you all stay involved through the update process.

Last, but very far from least, I ask for your vote. I am an activist, and will be an activist Congressperson, because my goal isn't just winning an election, it's to transform our system into a system based on compassion. From single payer healthcare to a carbon neutral energy system to expanded public education to comprehensive electoral reform, we will transform the whole damn system, and we're gonna do it together. I would appreciate your vote, as I have appreciated your support this far.

Thank you,

Jason
