Thanks to folks like you from across Ohio and countless grassroots volunteers, we were able to defeat Issue 1, the Republican-backed effort to strip away our voting power and hand over our democracy to fringe extremists.
This is a cause for celebration, but we cannot take our eyes off the prize. With reproductive rights on the ballot this November, and our Democratic House Majority up for grabs next November, we can’t afford to let our foot off the gas.
That's why I'm teaming up with SwingLeft with resources for college students who want to organize their campuses. If you’re looking to get involved to defeat Republican extremism at the ballot box this year and beyond, starting a Swing Left group on your campus is one of the best ways to multiply your impact.
To help you get started, Swing Left is hosting Crash Course: Organizing Your Campus this fall, a virtual training program for college students that makes it easy to start a Swing Left group on your campus.
During the training, you’ll learn essential organizing skills, including recruiting and retaining volunteers, building a team, hosting events, and more. You’ll also have the chance to connect with Swing Left staff and students on college campuses across the country to support you throughout the program.
Or, if you know another college student who would make a great group leader, forward them this email and encourage them to apply.
From Ohio to Georgia to Pennsylvania to Wisconsin, young people have demonstrated that when we write, call, knock, and vote—we win. Together, we can build powerful teams of students and win Democratic majorities in 2023, 2024, & beyond!
