FIRST: I ran for Congress to represent my community, but I was seen as the underdog because Indigenous people like myself don't have access to the wealthy establishment donors that get many campaigns off the ground.

THEN: We defied the odds, and I WON! I was sworn into Congress as the first ever Alaska Native representative, wearing my traditional Yup'ik mukluks and surrounded by a bipartisan group of women supporters.

NOW: I'm fighting for Alaska in Congress, including disaster relief for Alaskans and protecting our natural resources, including our salmon runs.

We have only come this far because of the support of people like you. But with so much on the ballot, including the future of reproductive rights, the work is not done yet, John.

Corporate interests and extremists are already plotting to take back this seat from the people of Alaska and elect their own puppet. John, I refuse to let us go back after coming this far.
