Welcome to the August Republican Report!

As you will notice we have an updated logo that we are excited about. The Interim has been busy for many different reasons. Even though there are special projects and travel, you can always connect with your Representatives and learn about their journey to the legislature by visiting the House Republican Caucus website.

Amir Tsarfati Joins Let's Debate It!
Representative Gene Ward and Representative Diamond Garcia recently had the honor to interview Amir Tsarfati, an Israeli public figure known worldwide for his Bible prophecy teachings, knowledge of world events, and founding of Behold Israel. Addressing topics from the end of days to why more Hawaiians need to exercise their right to vote, this episode of 'Let’s Debate It' was one you didn’t want to miss. But if you did... you’re in luck! A video recording of the discussion will be premiering online soon. Stay tuned in future Republican Reports for updates!

Groundbreaking of Ka'uluokaha'I Homestead Phase II-C
Exciting developments are underway as Phase II-C of Ka'uluokaha'i Homestead has officially broken ground. With plans to construct 127 homes in this phase, the project promises to make a significant impact on affordable housing in the region. Representative Diamond Garcia took part in the ceremony along with Senator Mike Gabbard, Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke, DHHL Director Kali Watson, and DHHL Commissioner Patty Kahanamoku-Teruya. As the construction commences, hope and anticipation grows for the positive change these new homes will bring to the West O'ahu community.

Representative Lauren Matsumoto and Representative Gene Ward attended Hawaii Family Forum’s 25th Anniversary Gala to present them with a certificate on behalf of the Hawaii State House of Representatives.  Hawaii Family Forum was commended for its steadfast commitment to stand up for conservative and family values at the legislature and in the state.

The Royal Standard
In a historic ceremony on Monday, July 23, 2023, the Return of the Royal Standard marked a momentous occasion in Hawaiian history. Representative Diamond Garcia and distinguished guests gathered to witness the return of the flag that once belonged to Queen Lili'uokalani, symbolizing her powerful presence over 'Iolani Palace and Washington Place.

Lost for 130 years following the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom in 1893, the Royal Standard resurfaced two years ago at an auction. Thanks to the estate of Princess Abigail Kawananakoa, which purchased the flag for $60,000, the historic symbol has finally returned home. While displayed to the public on Monday, July 23, 2023, the flag will now be carefully preserved in a climate-controlled vault, ensuring it remains a treasured emblem of Hawaiian heritage for generations to come.

Representative Alcos invited Hina Mauka to speak about their drug and alcohol treatment program, including inpatient services, outpatient services, and public speaking services.
