Did you know I was born in Ireland, folks?

It’s true: After my dad came back from Vietnam and married my mom, they went to work on a cattle feedlot outside Dublin – then I came along.

We came back to the States when I was two, so I can’t claim to remember much of my time living in Ireland. But I’ve always had a special appreciation for Irish culture and wisdom.

And out of innumerable brilliant Irish adages, one of my personal favorites is Giorraíonn beirt bóthar: “Two shorten the road.”

It’s a sentiment that especially resonates now, with a long road to Election Day stretching out ahead of us. With so much work to do, it can feel like a Herculean effort just to defend this district – let alone take back the House majority from the MAGA circus.
