As Senators, we have a responsibility.

Dick Durbin

John,

As Senators, we have a responsibility to do our part to uphold the promise of the American dream. There’s no denying that the dream has evolved over the years, but much has remained constant: the opportunity for upward mobility, freedom, and equality for all people who work hard and have the will to succeed.

That’s what brought my grandmother and mother to America from Lithuania, and they’re the same goals I work towards every day in the Senate.

It’s why I spend my time in Washington leading the way on legislation that I know will have a real impact on people’s lives—like gun safety, reducing health care costs, and immigration reform—instead of meddling in party politics or other obstacles.

I take my role as Senator seriously because I have firsthand experience with the American dream. I understand what working families need to get ahead and keep moving forward.

I’m proud of this work, but all of this is only possible with your support. Your donations are crucial to keeping the Senate blue, putting progress first, and doing what we can to keep the American Dream accessible to as many people as possible.

Please, donate $5 towards our August goal now to help me keep working for a better future for all.

My best,

Dick Durbin
