The death toll from Maui's wildfires reached 96, making it the nation's deadliest in over 100 years.

Officials warn that the death toll will likely rise as crews and cadaver dogs sift through the remains of the impacted towns. The fire has almost completely decimated the historic town of Lahaina, which is home to 13,000 and a popular tourist destination.

Over 23 Rohingya migrants dead after boat capsizes

At least 23 people are dead and 30 missing after a boat carrying over 60 Rohingya migrants from Myanmar's Rakhine state sank. Eight people are confirmed to have survived the tragedy. The dead include 13 women and 10 men.
