Friend,

My friend Reverend Dr. Raphael Warnock knows that running for office will be hard.

But as Senior Pastor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta*, he's said: "I've always understood that my service extends far beyond the doors of the church."

That's why he is stepping up to run for a Senate seat being vacated by Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson -- because while running for office is an incredible risk, as Dr. Warnock says: "I think the times demand it."

Many counted Georgia out for Democrats until Dr. Warnock stepped up -- now, we could make history and flip this seat: Donate $5 or more now to support Dr. Warnock as our next U.S. senator from Georgia.

When he enrolled at Morehouse College, Dr. Warnock didn't know how he would pay the full tuition. With the help of low-interest student loans and Pell Grants, Raphael graduated, earned a Ph.D., and was ordained in the ministry.

Fourteen years ago, he was chosen to serve as Senior Pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, the former pulpit of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was the youngest pastor selected to serve in that leadership role at the historic church.

That's the legacy he'll bring with him to the U.S. Senate. As senator, Dr. Warnock will bring to Washington the concerns of struggling Georgia families who wonder why no one is looking out for them. He'll focus on fighting for quality, affordable health care, for the dignity of working people who are paid too little as our government works more for Wall Street, and to make sure every voice is heard.

We could pick up this Senate seat and elect an incredible hero in Dr. Warnock: Donate $5 or more now to fund the fight to elect him as our next U.S. senator from Georgia.
