Dear John,
The American Immigration Council has had an incredibly busy first half of 2023. Despite a challenging political climate, we’ve accomplished a tremendous amount to help improve the lives of immigrants and make our country a more welcoming place.
We couldn’t do this work without you. As a champion of our work, I wanted to show you what we’ve achieved so far this year.
Here is a small sample of some of our greatest accomplishments to date. In 2023, the Council has:
-
Expanded our influence—we now advise 19 governors and more than 100 local communities on how to create policies and programs to benefit immigrants and make their communities more inclusive.
-
Grew our network of pro bono attorneys, paralegals, and interpreters to better help asylum seekers, including providing legal representation for more than 1,500 Afghan evacuees.
-
Sued Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to challenge his anti-immigrant law.
-
Testified before Congress to provide our expertise regarding the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Thank you, as always, for your support and partnership. I hope you'll take a moment to read about the work your support has made possible.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Robbins
Executive Director of the American Immigration Council
