MICHIGAN COALITION FOR RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNERS "Promoting safe use and ownership of firearms through education, litigation, and legislation." MONDAY E'NEWS MCRGO Upper Peninsula Picnic MCRGO is moving to Sagola Township Sportsmen's Club for this year's Upper Peninsula Picnic. The event is on Sunday, September 17. The event time and location are in the Upcoming Events box at the bottom of this newsletter. The picnic is free to attend and is open to all members and guests of MCRGO and Sagola Township Sportsmen's Club as well as the general public. MCRGO will serve cheeseburgers, chips, and beverages at no cost. You are encouraged to bring a dish to pass. This year's picnic will include an open pistol and rifle range with instructors on hand. You are welcome to bring your firearms, ammunition, ear & eye protection to the event. MCRGO will also debut its new laser Interactive Training Simulator for those who wish to try it. New and renewal MCRGO memberships will be offered at the picnic at a discounted $20 event rate. MCRGO hats will also be available for $20. Defensive carry is welcome at the picnic. MCRGO Fall Firearms Festival MCRGO's Fall Festival returns to Jackson this year with Kickin' Brass serving as the host club. The festival, in its sixth year, is open to the public at no cost for admission. The festival will be held on Saturday, September 23. The event time and location are in the Upcoming Events box at the bottom of this newsletter. As with past years, there will be both pistol and rifle shooting competitions with the $10 competitors' fee to benefit the MCRGO Legal Foundation. This year's competitions include pistol marksmanship (.38/9mm to .45, iron sights only), one handed pistol (.38/9mm to .45, iron sights only), 200 yard rifle marksmanship (scopes allowed), and 10-round modern rifle dueling trees. The event includes firearms seminars, Q&A with elected officials regarding firearms policy, and MCRGO's new laser Interactive Training Simulator for those who wish to try it. Cheeseburgers, bratwurst, hot dogs, chips, pop, and water will be provided at no cost. New and renewal MCRGO memberships will be offered at the picnic at a discounted $20 event rate.
