Dear John xxxxxx,
On Tuesday, the LA County Board of Supervisors (BOS) voted—unanimously—to end the collection of all criminal administrative fees, including probation, courts, and sheriff's fees. This means $1.8 billion in previously assessed fees will be removed!
The victory was achieved in partnership with the #LetsGetFreeLA Coalition, made up of Youth Justice Coalition, Public Counsel, Homeboy Industries, ACLU of Southern California, Community Coalition, A New Way of Life, and many others.
Our Policy Manager Kent Mendoza and other ARC staff and members gave powerful testimony that persuaded the BOS to no longer inflict significant economic burdens on our most vulnerable community members and end a practice of criminalizing poverty.
This is a big win for our community and could lead to similar reforms across California.

ARC member Marquies Nunez, recently home after 13 years of incarceration, was directly impacted by $1,000 in fees imposed by LA County and advocated as part of #LetsGetFreeLA.
We appreciate your shared interest in our making this a more compassionate and equitable world. Please help us redouble these efforts by generously supporting ARC's work today! ([link removed])
