John,
The presidential primary season is in full swing, and here we are just one day away from the Nevada caucuses. I know, right!?! Where did the time go?
Make no mistake, Nevada is important: while Iowa and New Hampshire have often been key indicators of who will go on to win the nomination, they’re both extremely white states.
Nevada is the most diverse state to vote for a presidential candidate yet this year, and whoever the winner is will give us a better idea of where our New American Majority of young, progressive, voters of color stand.
So far, our progressive movement is winning in the 2020 Presidential Race, with progressive champion Bernie Sanders winning New Hampshire and coming in a close second in Iowa. We are also seeing great momentum for Elizabeth Warren going into Nevada following a very strong showing at the debate this week. Whether it’s Bernie or Elizabeth, we need to keep up the energy for a progressive presidential nominee and make it clear that our votes will not be bought by billionaires like Mike Bloomberg or billionaire-backed Pete Buttigieg.
DFA is working to unite Democrats in support of a progressive president by leading the Progressive Unite 2020 project, giving out free “Billionaires Can’t Buy Me” stickers, and more -- and we need your support to keep it up throughout the primary season, especially with Super Tuesday right around the corner.
Will you pitch in $10 or more now to help us keep up the fight for a president who’ll stand up for every American and advance progressive measures like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal?
