Thanking Lincoln County First Responders

Recently, I was able to visit several fire departments in Lincoln County, as well as the new Lincoln County Courthouse, to recognize the brave men and women who keep our community safe.

First, Chief Tim Tench and his team gave me a tour of East Lincoln Fire Department's Station #3. This tremendous new facility provides first responders with the tools to serve the growing East Lincoln community. Thanks to the East Lincoln Fire Department team for keeping our community safe.

Next, I stopped by Ore-Bank Pumpkin Center Volunteer Fire Department to celebrate their recent Assistance to Firefighters Grant award. This grant was used to install an exhaust removal system for the station. I am grateful for Chief Steve Goggio and his team's service to our community.

Later in the day, I was fortunate to tour the new Lincoln County Courthouse. After touring the site during construction, it was great to get back and see the finished product.

This facility is a tremendous asset to Lincoln County and I am grateful for all the hard work from community leaders to make it happen. Thanks to County Manager Davin Madden for hosting me.

Checking in with Lincoln County

I appreciate the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce hosting me for a Washington update. We discussed our fight against the Chinese Communist Party, my work on the Financial Services Committee, and much more.

I am grateful to Erica Batounis for taking time to give me a tour of Active Concepts in Lincolnton. Active Concepts produces raw materials for the personal care and cosmetic industries and is thriving in Lincoln County.

Thanks to John Dancoff and Kara Brown from the Lincoln Economic Development Association for joining me on the tour.

Thanks to Skip Steele, Tracy Barger, and Haywood Easter for showing me the new Amy's House. The finished product will be an outstanding facility to shelter victims of domestic violence and give them a safe space to rebuild their lives.

Thanks to the Lincoln County Coalition Against Domestic Violence for your selfless work to protect those in need.

Visiting Top of the Lake Rotary Club

Recently, Top of the Lake Rotary Club in Mooresville invited me to be a guest speaker. I enjoyed providing an update on my work this Congress and taking questions on the pressing issues our country is facing.

As a Rotarian, it was great to be there to witness installation of the new board. Thank you for your service to the Mooresville community and for inviting me to be with you!

The Biden Administration’s latest attack on our Second Amendment rights is at the expense of Tenth District students. Hunting education and archery programs teach firearm safety and provide an opportunity for students to improve their sporting skills. The decision to defund these programs is egregious and I joined my colleagues to demand a reversal of this policy.
