Hi friend, welcome to the UNFPA team.
Who are we? We are USA for UNFPA: the UN sexual and reproductive health and rights agency. We provide lifesaving care in over 150 countries so every woman and girl has agency over her body and can reach her fullest potential.
What do we do? We work around the world, including in crisis settings, to ensure every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every woman and girl can live free from violence — including harmful practices like child marriage and female genital mutilation.
Your support provides lifesaving care during humanitarian crises around the globe
Why is this important?
- 121 million pregnancies — approximately half of all pregnancies in the world — are unintended, meaning women and girls do not have the resources or support to make decisions for their bodies and lives.
- More than 800 women needlessly die from pregnancy and childbirth complications every single day.
- 1 in 3 women are survivors of physical or sexual violence — and every 11 minutes a woman or girl is killed by a family member.
How can you help?
Start by filling out our one-question survey to let us know which areas of our work are most important to you. We need your input to help build a movement that ensures EVERY woman and girl can reach their fullest potential.
Thank you for sharing your input. We’ll be in touch with more updates about our lifesaving work for women and girls across the world.
