Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of IJ’s victory at the United States Supreme Court in Timbs v. Indiana, which held that the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition on excessive fines and fees applies to state and local governments. To celebrate that unanimous decision in favor of liberty—and what it means for IJ client Tyson Timbs and all Americans—IJ has just released the final episode of Bound By Oath, season one!

Bound By Oath is an original IJ podcast series that provides an in-depth look at the history and meaning of the Constitution, starting with the 14th Amendment. In our season finale, host John Ross and top legal experts discuss the history of the Excessive Fines Clause, the road to last year’s monumental Supreme Court victory, and the long struggle to incorporate the Bill of Rights against the states.

You can stream and share all 10 episodes of season one on iTunes <[link removed]>, Spotify <[link removed]>, Stitcher <[link removed]>, and our website <[link removed]>. With tens of thousands of downloads and excellent reviews, Bound By Oath is sure to educate and entertain you.

We hope you enjoy this close look at the history that underpins IJ’s work.
