Updates from the Campaign!

Friends -

I can feel the energy on the campaign trail!

I've always believed the strength of our region isn't just its geography and resources, but in the people who make our community so special. Every hand we shake and every conversation we share is creating even greater momentum for our campaign!

I've spent the past few weeks traveling our region, hearing directly from our neighbors about the challenges and opportunities facing our communities.

Along the way, I've had the pleasure of tasting (perhaps too much!) delicious chili, forging new relationships throughout the district, and above all, listening to YOU.

If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll come join us at a campaign event near you soon!

Onward,

Christopher Cabaldon

Candidate for State Senate District 3

Our Community Deserves Transparency in Solano County Land Grab

Several weeks ago, I was in Rio Vista for a campaign event and was told about a shadowy group that is buying up an incredible amount of land in Solano County. The land being purchased includes key agricultural land, islands with water rights in the Delta, and areas directly encircling Travis Air Force Base. The group, Flannery Associates LLC, has refused to be transparent about its intentions for these critical areas.

As a long time member of the Delta Protection Commission and the Regional Water Quality Control Board, I know the state has the tools to achieve transparency, protect our resources, and stand up for our communities. That is why I authored an article highlighting how state regulators can get engaged - and what could be at stake if they don’t.

You can read the full piece in CalMatters.

Thank you to members of our community that brought this issue to my attention! In the State Senate, I will be deeply committed to preserving our agricultural land and water supply, and will be ready to fight for our region on day one.

Chris-Crossing the Campaign Trail

Over the last several weeks, I have been all over our region, talking with folks about the issues that are important to them, their families and their communities.

From eating way too much at the Northern Solano County Democrats Annual Chili Cook-off, to meeting passionate members of the Dixon community with Congressman Mike Thompson, and sharing my vision for our region’s future with voters throughout our district, I’m working hard every day to earn the support of our community.

Stay tuned for announcements about our upcoming events!
