For decades, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has failed to disclose gifts worth millions of dollars from billionaire Republican donors. Gifts have included vacations, flights on private jets, skyboxes at sporting events, and one billionaire even paid for the private school education of Thomas’s family member.

In October, the Supreme Court will hear arguments in a case that is extremely relevant to each of Justice Thomas’s billionaire buddies: Moore v. US. This case will determine whether or not it’s constitutional to tax unrealized gains, which will have a bearing on legislation such as the Billionaire Minimum Income Tax―a bill that would tax annual increases in wealth of households worth more than $100 million.

Justice Clarence Thomas has no business ruling on a case that has huge implications for his billionaire buddies. Sign now to demand Justice Thomas recuse himself from Moore v. US.

In the latest bombshell report from ProPublica, we’ve learned that Justice Clarence Thomas has more than just one billionaire benefactor.[1]

For decades at least four billionaires have been bankrolling a lavish lifestyle for Thomas and his family, including:

• 38 destination vacations

• 26 private jet flights

• 8 helicopter flights

• 12 VIP passes to sporting events

• 2 luxury resort stays in Florida and Jamaica

• 1 private yacht vacation around the Bahamas

• 1 standing invitation to an exclusive golf club

• And, private school tuition for the grandnephew Thomas raised as a son

Justice Thomas’s failure to disclose these gifts is illegal. And, as ProPublica says, it "exposes consistent violations of judicial norms..."

In October, the Supreme Court will hear a case that is relevant to each of Thomas’s billionaire buddies: Moore v. US. At issue is the ability to tax unrealized gains, which is exactly what Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund is fighting for in the Billionaire Minimum Income Tax―taxing the wealth gains each year of households worth more than $100 million.

If Thomas and his SCOTUS colleagues rule in favor of billionaires and corporations, and against the American people, it would shield the ultra-wealthy from paying taxes on their obscene wealth gains.

Since he was sworn into the Supreme Court in 1991, Thomas has been rubbing elbows with the ultra-wealthy, including members of the very exclusive Horatio Alger Association, to whom he has granted access to the Supreme Court building for private events.

In addition to billionaire Republican mega-donor Harlan Crow, we’ve now learned that Clarence Thomas has accepted unreported gifts from a former top executive at Berkshire Hathaway, David Sokol; oil baron Paul “Tony” Noelly; and billionaire businessman H. Wayne Huizenga.

Each one of these billionaires is using their untaxed wealth gains to buy the Supreme Court and bend our democracy to their will.
