This week was the one year anniversary of the passage of the PACT Act. This legislation was the biggest expansion of benefits and services for toxic exposed veterans in over thirty years, and Kirsten was thrilled to see it become law.
Veterans who are exposed to toxic chemicals while in service often don't see the negative impacts until years down the line — in illnesses like asthma, cancer, and more. The PACT Act ensures that these brave men and women are getting the care and treatment they deserve.
Veterans are heroes who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country. We owe them everything — but too often, our political leaders let them down.
Since he took office, Kirsten's opponent has repeatedly voted against the best interests of our nation's service members.
He voted in lockstep with MAGA Republicans to approve a budget that would have meant 31 million fewer veteran outpatient visits and 81,000 layoffs across the Veterans Health Administration. He voted yes on banning diversity and inclusion initiatives in the Department of Defense. And he voted yes on an amendment that would make it even harder for active service members to receive reproductive care.
We should be giving the people who sacrifice so much for our country more support, not less.
In Congress, Kirsten will fight to uplift and support our veterans. Their needs will always come before culture war antics and political agendas.
