Congresswoman Tenney's Weekly Newsletter Have questions? Contact Me Here My Agriculture and Tax Plans for NY-24 I recently visited multiple family farms and local businesses in Cayuga County and Wayne County to discuss their concerns and my efforts in Congress to support our farming and business community. Small businesses and family-owned farms will always be the backbone of our NY-24 economy, and I remain committed to supporting policies in Congress that address these concerns and deliver lasting results for our community. To outline my work to support our NY-24 producers and employers, I unveiled a three-pillar agriculture plan and tax plan. My agriculture plan focuses on supporting NY-24 specialty crops, bolstering New York’s dairy industry, and protecting American farmland from foreign interests. While my tax plan centers around my work on the House Ways and Means Committee to build on the successes of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, revitalize our communities, support our families, and ensure essential taxpayer protections. I will continue to be a tenacious advocate for our rural communities and work to give farmers, producers, and small business owners the certainty and opportunities they need to succeed. Biden and Hochul have FAILED to Combat the Migrant Crisis Under Joe Biden and Kathy Hochul’s far-left leadership, every community in America is now a border community. This crisis has been impacting Western New York, with the most recent example being migrants dropped off in Erie County and Monroe County. Just this week, 77 migrants were left in Rochester, and the news broke that a Venezuelan migrant was arraigned on rape charges in Cheektowaga, allegedly committing the heinous crime in front of a 3-year-old child. This horrific tragedy should have been prevented by our federal and state leaders, but they refuse to put US citizens and taxpayers first by protecting our communities. Since Hochul announced her dangerous and misguided plan to relocate poorly vetted migrants into our community, I have stood strongly in opposition to this reckless plan. Additionally, numerous counties in New York’s 24th District have courageously stood up to Hochul to protect local residents by passing resolutions in opposition to migrant relocation. Our communities are suffering under crushing inflation, record crime, and now an illegal migrant crisis. Central and Western New Yorkers should not be used as pawns in the lawless 'sanctuary city' policy imposed by Biden and Hochul. Reaffirming my Support for Israeli Sovereignty Over Area C in Judea and Samaria This week, I introduced the Anti-BDS Labeling Act ensures an accurate representation of products that originate from Israel, Gaza, or Judea and Samaria. This not only reinforces existing U.S. policy but also prevents the BDS movement from arbitrarily discriminating against goods made in Israeli-controlled areas of Judea and Samaria. The United States should always stand with our greatest ally in the Middle East and continue working to uphold the longstanding Oslo II Accord, which was agreed to by both Israeli and Palestinian leadership. I remain committed to standing against any efforts to delegitimize Israel and any efforts to reverse or alter this labeling rule. As a tenacious advocate for our district, I brought the concerns of our communities to the table during these important discussions. We have made it extraordinarily clear that the North Country does not want this station constructed in Blind Bay. It is vital that we find a solution that works for all parties so the CBP can continue in its critical mission of protecting our border and keeping our community safe. Thankfully, CBP has acknowledged the issues raised by our community and is now looking at additional sites for their relocation. The CBP has also committed to a more transparent relocation process, acknowledging the need to improve the agency’s dialogue with the communities it protects. I thank CBP for their efforts, and I will continue fighting for a solution that keeps our communities safe and protects the natural beauty and ecological wealth of the North Country. This provision was added to the ESEA by the so-called “Bipartisan Safer Communities Act” in 2022. Now, the Biden administration is intentionally misconstruing Congressional intent and using this provision to prohibit ESEA funds from being used to fund hunting, archery, and shooting sports programs in schools. Upstate New York schools offer hunting, archery, and shooting sports programs to teach students how to responsibly handle firearms and respect our Second Amendment rights. The Biden Administration’s attempt to defund these outdoor recreational programs is a power grab and flies in the face of Congressional intent. This important legislation will protect these popular after-school programs and end the Biden Administration’s attack on our constitutional rights.
