There's Nothing Moderate About Abortion
stop-abortion-now.jpeg
Recently, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar has been hailed as a
"moderate" for calling for a "big tent"
approach that makes room for pro-life democrats. Early in the Primary
cycle, Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard broke with the current
progressive narrative by reintroducing a mantra from the Clinton era:
abortion should be safe, legal, and rare. Former Vice President Joe
Biden, for much of his career, has described himself as taking a
"

middle of the road" position on abortion.

Some have regarded these statements and positions as evidence that
"abortion moderates" are emerging in the Democratic party.
The problem with this view is that it assumes a "moderate"
approach to abortion can exist. This simply is not so. There is no
such thing as an abortion moderate because there is nothing moderate
about abortion. So-called "moderate" positions attempt to
find a middle ground between two ideas that cannot co-exist.
Furthermore, Klobuchar's voting record on abortion is not
moderate in any sense of the word. She has voted in favor of abortion
every opportunity that she has had, and supports abortion up until
birth.

She even opposes the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act, which would
make sure that abortion survivors receive medical care.
Many who claim to be abortion moderates will argue that they are
personally opposed to abortion, but do not want to prevent someone
else from making that choice, or that they want abortion to be
allowed, but only in a small number of cases. But taking the life of
another human being cannot be a "private" choice and the
choice of a society or an individual to turn a blind eye to the taking
of innocent lives is not neutral. If someone is only privately or
personally opposed to abortion, they are either unwilling to say that
it is evil and that it takes an innocent human life, or by their
refusal to publicly oppose abortion they are saying that such evil is
acceptable. As Kathryn Jean Lopez asked, "What good is private
opposition in the face of the death of innocent life, the pitting of a
mother against her child, the trail of misery that is legal abortion,
with all the cultural pressures in favor of abortion?"

You Can Defend Life, Family, and Religious Freedom by Participating in
Precinct Caucuses - FEBRUARY 25
Screen Shot 2020-02-07 at 12.54.51 PM.png
On Tuesday, you'll have a chance to impact our state by participating
in party caucuses. This is a wonderful opportunity to love
our neighbors and to be "salt and light" for the direction of a
political party and the selection of candidates for office at the most
basic level. When we as Christians bring our convictions of life,
family, and religious freedom to the caucus process, we have
a real chance of improving the political discourse in our state - and
I think we can all agree that it must be improved!
Just a few things to note before we get started: first, unlike in past
years, the presidential straw poll will not take place during the
caucus. Instead, Minnesota will hold a presidential primary
on March 3.
Second, this year, your participation is crucial. Some folks
in our state want to remove all references to protecting life and
family and advocating for religious freedom from the GOP party
platform - the only major party platform that still
pledges support for those most fundamental values. If you
consider yourself a Republican, your participation in your local
caucus is the only thing that will ensure this doesn't happen.
Because, as Minnesotans, we value life, family, and religious
freedom. On February 25th, we have a chance to put that into
action. Are you ready? Let's get started!

for our biggest event of the year - our annual dinner with
pro-life superstar Abby Johnson. Abby's work with And Then There Were
None, a charity that helps abortion workers leave the industry, has
been hugely successful. And her new initiative, Love Lines, gives
financial support to women who choose LIFE.
But her story began in 2009, when she was a clinic director for
Planned Parenthood and had to witness, for the first time, an
ultrasound-guided abortion. With horror, she saw for the first time
what abortion really is: the killing by dismemberment of a baby. She
walked away and has been working to save lives ever since. Her
book Unplanned was turned into one of last year's most
surprising hit movies.
And she's coming to Minneapolis in May. Will you join us for our
Annual Dinner with Abby Johnson? Click below to register

We expect this event to fill up, so make sure to register as soon as
you can.
