Folks, it’s been quite a while since I last gave you an update on the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, on which I serve as the ranking member.

It’s been frustrating, friend. When we last spoke I updated you that MAGA Republicans were using precious committee time to promote fringe beliefs and attack public health experts, all to justify and placate the views of their most extreme supporters.
I wish I could say things have gotten better. The awful truth is that three million-plus individuals died, and Trump Republicans have only deepened their rhetoric, their accusations, and their fringe beliefs not backed up by data.
- I’m tired of the National GOP cherry picking evidence.
- I’m tired of them disregarding the truth of what’s in front of them.
- And I’m tired of their lies.
Listen, I agree with the public health experts on this one: If we can’t even agree on what to investigate, much less how to go about it, Covid will be further politicized and the nation will be more vulnerable to future pandemics.
And at a time when MAGA Republicans in DC are voting on bills to slash funding for the World Health Organization, CDC, and FDA – it’s up to us to fight back.
