Folks,

Earlier this month, I was proud to join two of my Democratic colleagues – Reps. Lori Trahan and Adam Schiff – in condemning the recent proliferation of hate speech on Twitter.

In the months since Elon Musk took over, there’s been an explosion of dangerous and violent rhetoric on Twitter.

And things have only been made worse by his overtly hostile attitude towards researchers; in fact, Musk recently sued the Center for Countering Digital Hate for tracking rising hate speech on the site.

Between these cowardly attacks against researchers, laying off employees managing trust and safety on Twitter, and restoring banned accounts of neo-Nazis and dangerous extremists, Elon Musk’s irresponsible leadership is a direct threat to public safety.

So, folks, I’m asking you to join our fight for decency, truth, and transparency online. Please, will you be one of the 250 supporters we need to sign our petition and demand Musk put people and principle over profits?
