Thank you to Mayor Girard, Chief Wilmot, and Chief Chamberlain for meeting with me to discuss their emergency communication project.

This week, I had the opportunity to tour Claremont’s dispatch center and meet with city officials and first responders to discuss their plans to purchase a new, upgraded communications system with funding I helped secure. I am thrilled to see the impact this new equipment will have on the community. The project will make it easier for their departments to respond to emergency calls and work together to keep our friends and neighbors safe. 

Our police officers, firefighters, and paramedics go above and beyond the call of duty every day to protect our communities, and I will keep fighting to ensure they have the resources to do their jobs safely.

It’s essential we provide our first responders with the resources and equipment they need to do their jobs.

In New Hampton, I met with first responders to see the new bunker gear they purchased, thanks to a recent FEMA Assistance to Firefighters grant. 

I’ll always fight for New Hampshire’s first responders so that they can do their jobs safely!

As the founder and co-chair of the 21st Century Long Term Care Caucus, I’m focused on lowering costs and expanding access to health care for Granite State seniors.

Also, this week, I met with Claremont Senior Center members to discuss their priorities and how we can make them a reality. They aren’t asking for much — they want access to affordable quality health care, transparency at the pharmacy, and to retire and age with dignity. 

During the visit, I had the chance to discuss my work to eliminate out-of-pocket vaccination costs for Medicare beneficiaries, which was signed into law as part of the Inflation Reduction Act.

I am proud to fight for New Hampshire seniors and their families, and I look forward to bringing our conversations to Congress to deliver real results.

I’m grateful to the health care providers who work hard every single day to ensure families across our state have the support they need.

This week was Community Health Center week! On Wednesday, I visited Mid-State Health Center to honor the work our health care providers do each day. Community health centers play a huge role in New Hampshire’s health care system, and when we invest in them, our entire state feels the benefits. 

Last year, I secured funding for Mid-State to drastically expand their scope of practice and services — it was wonderful to visit and see the progress they’ve made since!

It was an honor to be awarded the Health Champion Award alongside Senator Hassan!

On Thursday, I visited Harbor Care in Nashua to meet with health care providers and discuss the work that lies ahead. It was an honor to be awarded their Health Champion Award for my work supporting community health centers in New Hampshire!

From expanding access to quality, affordable child care to providing our neighbors with the substance use disorder treatment they need, these community health centers have such a positive impact on our state.

I enjoyed meeting with local leaders and developers who made Monahan Manor Apartments possible.

After my visit to Harbor Care, I toured Monahan Manor Apartments in Nashua to discuss the need for more affordable housing options in New Hampshire and my work to address the state’s housing shortage. The new community will provide hundreds of affordable apartments, a huge win for Nashua and our state!

Affordable housing projects like Monahan Manor are essential to addressing our state’s housing crisis and prove that this can be done. I look forward to seeing this project finished later this year and to help get more efforts like this off the ground. In Congress, I am working on legislation to make it easier to build more affordable housing units!

The Concord Coalition to End Homelessness is doing incredible work to end homelessness in New Hampshire.

I was able to tour Concord Coalition to End Homelessness’ Resource Center and hear about their plans for new federal funding to expand services and provide Granite Staters with the help they need. Everyone needs a safe place to live and call home, and Concord Coalition to End Homelessness is an essential partner in making that a reality. 

Together, we’ll keep working to ensure everyone in New Hampshire has a roof over their head, and I look forward to getting this funding over the finish line!

The VA continues to encourage all veterans and survivors to file your PACT Act claims—or submit your intent to file—now at www.va.gov/PACT. If you apply now and are eligible for benefits, you will receive them backdated to August 10, 2022.
