Dear Friend,
Our work to find a cure is relentless — and so vital. It's because this disease doesn't just attack a person's memory. Alzheimer's changes the whole brain.
Alzheimer's disease leads to nerve cell death and tissue loss throughout the entire organ. Over time, the brain shrinks dramatically, affecting nearly all of its functions.
Kind, dedicated people like you are helping provide care and support to the more than 6 million Americans living with this devastating disease while enabling scientists to make real progress toward a cure. The strong interest you've taken in this fight tells me that you want to make a difference, and what better time than when you can make your first gift go TWICE as far.
Our current $600,000 Matching Gift Challenge offers a chance for you to help continue that progress, while helping ensure care and support gets to those who need it, by making 2X the impact.
For someone living with Alzheimer's, the plaques and tangles in their brain spread through the brain as the disease progresses — impacting more cognitive functions over time. In some cases, brain changes may begin 20 years or more before the appearance of outward dementia symptoms. That's why early detection and diagnosis are so important.
It's also why I'm asking you to make your first gift today, during our $600,000 Matching Gift Challenge to help us continue to push for early detection and advocate for access to treatment for everyone who would benefit, while ensuring everyone gets the care and support they need.
The Food and Drug Administration has approved treatments that slow the progression of this disease for people living with early Alzheimer's. While this is a tremendous step forward, the Alzheimer's Association's work is far from done.
We won't rest until everyone living with Alzheimer's — at any stage — can get the treatment, care and support they need and deserve. And we're fighting to ensure access for everyone who can benefit from these and emerging treatments — and right now, you have an incredible opportunity to help.
Two generous, long-standing supporters, Dick and Marianne Kipper, have pledged to match every dollar we receive, up to $600,000, between now and September 30 — but only if we can raise the same amount by the deadline. Their gift will help fund Alzheimer's disease research. That means any gift you make today can go twice as far to help provide care and support and accelerate research.
You can make 2X the difference with one gift and make your support go even further. |

This special match opportunity ends soon. Please make your first gift now so you can double your impact while there's still time.
Together, we can bring hope to those who are living with this heartbreaking disease and further our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
Sincerely,
Donna McCullough
Chief Mission and Field Operations Officer
P.S. This match challenge is only here for a limited time. Time is not on our side, friend. Please make your first gift today to help unlock matching funds and make 2X the impact.
