WATCH: Christian governor axed for opposing school’s sex ed policy shares her story

Dear supporter,

The Christian parent governor dismissed for raising concerns about the trans-affirming sex ed policy at her children’s primary school has spoken to me about her two-year ordeal.

The Institute supported ‘Susan’ in her successful legal action against the Gateshead school’s Governing Body and Local Authority. Though she was recently reinstated by the High Court, the Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) policy itself remains in place.

In this short interview, she warns schools against an unquestioning adoption of radical transgender ideology, saying: “Everyone’s so afraid of the reaction they might get, but that sort of fear-driven policy making is a route to disaster.”

‘Susan’ has been granted anonymity by the High Court. Her face and voice have been disguised to protect her identity.

Watch now

Susan first pointed out legal errors in the school’s policy in March 2021. These included plans to use the discredited ‘Genderbread Person’ graphic and claims that being a ‘man’ or a ‘woman’ is determined by personality, hobbies and clothes – not biology.

She speaks frankly about the impact her stand has had on her and her family. But she says she has no regrets and that her faith in Christ has been “an absolute anchor” throughout the very difficult process.

Give thanks to God for Susan’s brave stand and her vindication by the High Court. Pray that many other parents, governors, teachers and students would challenge schools not to adopt policies which promote transgender ideology.

Yours in Christ,
