“You ready to go to work?”

When Joe Biden said those words to me three years ago today, my answer was a resounding yes.

Because I’ve never been afraid to fight for the people.

I was raised to take action. Growing up, whenever I got upset about something, my mother would look me in the eye and ask, “So what are you going to do about it?”

That's why, when I saw a broken justice system, I became a lawyer to try and fix it. It's why, during the foreclosure crisis, I took on the big banks as California's attorney general. It's why, as a United States senator, I fought to represent people like my mother -- people who politicians often overlook or don't take seriously. And it’s why I answered Joe’s question with a resounding yes.

Since taking office, Joe and I have worked every single day to move this country forward. I’m proud that we’ve made historic investments in our country’s infrastructure, taken on the climate crisis, lowered the cost of prescription drugs, and passed the first significant federal gun safety law in nearly 30 years.
