POLITICO: How Latino Republicans are building their clout
 
This week a couple of E-PAC’s incredible Latina GOP women were featured in a Politico article highlighting the important work of the GOP’s Congressional Hispanic Conference. Both Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) and Lori Chavez DeRemer (OR-05) made their debut in Congress after last November’s election and have become influential in the House, putting the Conference on track to become one of the strongest on the Hill.

Ashley is currently in her second term as a U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 1st Congressional District. Ashley also served in the Iowa House of Representatives, was an award-winning journalist, and is a proud mom. An Iowa native, Ashley is the first woman to represent Iowa’s 67th district. She has worked successfully to balance the budget, cut taxes and protect the most vulnerable in her community. Her tireless advocacy for Iowa families has also helped secure increased aid for K-12 education and additional funding for rural hospitals and mental health facilities. Prior to serving in the Iowa House, Ashley was a reporter for KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids. Ashley is an active member of her community, and she is a member of the March of Dimes, Young Parents Network, and the National Council on Youth Leadership.
