Friends —
I want to take a break from the normal campaign emails to ask if you can spare a few dollars to help some of the families whose lives have been upended by the tragic wildfires in Hawaii.
Dozens have died. Thousands have lost their homes. An entire historic town has been wiped out. Lives have tragically changed forever and these people need our help in their time of need.
Here's a link to contribute whatever you can afford today to several charities working to support the families impacted by the wildfires in Hawaii.

Here is the truth:
We in California know firsthand the devastating toll of catastrophic wildfires fueled by climate change, capable of wiping out entire communities and centuries of irreplaceable history and heritage.
I want you to know that our state is sending resources to support our Pacific neighbors during their time of need.
I've spoken with Hawaii's Governor Josh Green and we're sending firefighting and urban search and rescue personnel to assist and support the emergency operations in the most impacted areas.
That's what I can do on the government side of things.
But these families are going to need more than that — today, and for a long time ahead.
So I am asking you:
Can you spare a few dollars today — whatever it is you can afford — to help our sisters and brothers in Hawaii? Use this link to donate directly to several charities working to support the families impacted by the wildfires in Hawaii.

Thank you,
