Republicans need seniors to win elections, and Donald Trump’s policies are disastrous for seniors.

Here’s the problem: If the media just repeats Donald Trump’s lies, then seniors will not know what he’s doing.

This is not theoretical. Donald Trump tweeted “We will not be touching your Social Security or Medicare in Fiscal 2021 Budget.” Then he released a budget that decimates those programs.

And the Associated Press reported in the headline that his budget “left Social Security and Medicare alone,” even as the story itself details the cuts.

But if you do a quick news search today, guess what other news sources actually copied as the story went around the country? The headline.
